THE CLUBS BACKGROUND

The Dannevirke Triathlon and Multisport Club was established in 1978 by members of the local community for the community in recognition of the growth of the outdoor fitness activities.

We are based in the rural town of Dannevirke 45 minutes north of Palmerston North and 1 hour 10 minutes south of Hastings.

Our club caters to the fitness and health needs of the community by offering a range of multisport events- cycling, kayaking and running. On the social scene we also hold club dinners and barbeques as a means of keeping in touch in a relaxed environment.

Each year the club hosts the INFRACON Challenge to be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2007. The other major event is the Farmlands Ride of the Ranges . These two major sporting events attract a number of top class competitors from outside the Tararua district. The club also hosts regular Weekly Events that include Cycling races, group running and kayaking.
